“ With your help, Illinois has won major legislative victories for the environment. We passed the Future Energy Jobs Act in 2016, and followed it up by passing the Natural Areas Stewardship Act this year. The FY18 budget now supports programs that are critically important to Illinois’ environment. It does not sweep Open Space Land Acquisition Development funds and enacts only minor sweeps to the Natural Areas Acquisition Fund. It also includes Federal fish and wildlife funding pass through money. (Had this not happened, Illinois would have lost $30 million in federal conservation funding.) These are important programs that are necessary for advancing progress on conservation and climate action - please ensure their funding in the future. ”
